Our day care groups are monitored by our trained supervisors at all times and offer a ‘social particular’ group for dogs who like to play in smaller groups with a calmer setting and who maybe like extra breaks during the day.” Managers are walking around five times per day, checking in, making sure energy levels match. “We want this to be a comfortable, happy, safe place. “Our number one priority is the dog’s safety,” Kassi said. Kassi said this ensures drop-offs and pick-ups are a cinch for busy pet parents on their way to work or play.Īnd then there’s the mission: to provide world-class, loving, 24-hour, professional, on-site care for K9 Activity Club guests via a well-trained staff, which translates into safe, secure fun for your furry family members. First, there’s its convenient location on Occidental Road just east of Highway 12 and Fulton Road. K9 Activity Club has a lot going for it, and Kassi enumerated a few key points. “Alicia is a pretty incredible woman,” said Kassi Walls, sales and marketing director of K9 Activity Club, about her boss. K9 Activity Club is a perennial winner, and it’s easy to see why because K9 Activity Club does a lot to set itself apart from other doggie day care, boarding and training facilities. She can boast this year that K9 Activity Club won Best Doggie Day Care honors in the Best of the North Bay 2023 contest for Sonoma County. Today, Alicia, a Sebastopol mother to five kids and lots of animals, keeps the family business running steady. They opened their Santa Rosa pup paradise in 2014 for day care and boarding services and then expanded in 2019 to include training. These type of cuts were all over her head, legs and two on torso. When animal-loving sisters Alicia Collins and Natalie Grail set their sights on creating a one-stop shop for pooches and their parents, they came up with the idea of K9 Activity Club. Pictures of a wiggly puppy are hard to get. I would have appreciated more of an effort and ownership of what happened rather than excuses and justification Well the breed is known for a high pain tolerance. They did ask repeatedly if I had to go to a vet and mentioned she didn't appear hurt. I wanted to see the video so we could work with a trainer to improve my girls new behavior challenges. ![]() I was sent a 15 minute clip and told the video couldn't be sent in its entirety. I asked for video so I can watch her day and see what has caused her change in behavior. My dogs demeanor towards other dogs has changed since her daycare visit. ![]() My girl is a rough player but that kind of play should not be permitted, causing injury. When she returned my call she said it was "mutual rough play". When I called to ask what had happened the person we spoke to said they would review video. When we picked up our puppy she had 20+ puncture wounds on her body. Since K9 has fairly good reviews we decided to give them another chance with a day at daycare. When I called about this they made excuses and tried to justify her injuries. She also got kennel cough from her visit. We took her to the vet and had her paw and eye treated. When we picked her up we noticed her rear paw was torn open and her eye was goopy. We asked to have her supervised closely, she has had major hip and leg reconstruction done prior to us adopting her. We took our then 8 month old pit for 4 days of boarding. Our first experience with daycare was good. Overall, our dogs clearly had fun as they came back tired but I’m just unsure if we’ll bring them back for another stay. ![]() When my significant other picked them up, he noted a farm smell from both dogs who clearly didn’t get a bath with no explanation as to why they didn’t and about 2 days worth of food for each dog when their food was portioned out per day, so I’m not sure what they ate for those 2 days with again, no explanation. They were great at communicating with me within the first couple days about some GI upset and overall progress but hadn’t heard anything else so assumed everything was going well. During their week-long stay, they were supposed to get a bath the day before we picked them up, which was perfect for us as I was going to be extremely limited in physical movements and unable to help my significant other. After doing a lot of research and hearing highly from people about K9 Activity Club, I chose to board my dogs there for 1 week because I was having major hip surgery. ![]()
